Anyone who has been trained in basic life saving techniques will recognize these steps.
Now while it is a small stretch to apply these to some of the issues confronting this country, the basic principals DO apply.
Step one is to check the airway, step two is to stop the bleeding, step three is to treat for shock.
Three simple steps that apply to saving a person's life that CAN be applied to multiple issues confronting this country.
Let's take "immigration" first.
Well checking the airway shows that LEGAL immigration is working and allowing plenty of folks to come into this country to live work and raise families. So the "airway" is clear.
"Stop the bleeding", IF the federal government would enforce the laws currently on the books and seal the border, this would go a long way towards stopping the bleeding(illegal immigration) that is hurting this country and diverting attention from other issues.
"Treat for shock", AFTER the border is sealed then it's time to deal with those already here and the "shock" they will feel when they realize that IF they are deported for breaking the laws of this country by their method of entry, or some other criminal offense it won't be as easy to get back in. We then also have time to make decisions, NOT "knee-jerk" reactions and vote getting ploys on how to assimilate those who are already in this country(some thru no fault of their own) and are being productive citizens.
These same steps can apply to the economy.
The "airway" IS clear currently, and as long as congress doesn't strangle industry with tons of "regulations" the economy will continue breathing.
"Stop the bleeding", the federal government MUST learn some self-control. It can no longer be allowed to spend almost TWICE what it is bringing in. If ANY of us ran our personal/business financies that way we would end up in prison for fraud. There is NO reason that "we the people" should allow the federal government to act any differently with OUR(taxes and fees) money and spend/budget it in a manner differently then we would ourselves.
"Treat for shock", because to get the out of control spending under control there is going to have to be "shock", spending will have to be reduced, programs will have to be cut, and actions like those WILL cause shock, especially among the "special interests" groups when they find out that the well has run dry. Among other things that need to be cut, our "foreign aid" packages need to be reevaluated. We send Billions of dollars a year out of this country trying to either "help" or to buy goodwill. Well guess what? We have been getting a miserable return on our investment, so let's quit throwing good money after bad.
Can anyone else see area's of concern to us all that these simple steps could be applied to?
